Kerikeri Half Marathon 2019
Still time to be race ready – come and celebrate the 30th Anniversary with the Striders…
This year is particularly special, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Kerikeri Half Marathon which was first started by the Kerikeri Striders in 1989. Are you in?
The ASB Kerikeri Half Marathon on Saturday, 23 November 2019 is a predominantly downhill run from Okaihau to Kerikeri, and is the final event in the Sport Northland Run/Walk Series each year.
This Half Marathon is an iconic feature on the Northland events calendar. Starting in Okaihau the 21.1km course makes its way through a rolling country side to finish in the centre of town at the Kerikeri Domain. The 5km fun run starts from Marsden Estate.
Stick around for the Kerikeri Street Party where you can sample wonderful food, wine and many other local specialties or just dance the evening away.
If you are a beginner, or just looking to improve your half marathon time, there are many training plans on line. This one from Mental Health Org looks good for beginners to follow:

NOMINATION FOR LIFE MEMBERSHIP
It is moved by Renata Blanchfield, seconded by Roger Allison that Margie Silich be nominated for Life Membership.
MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS
Annual subscriptions are set at the Annual General Meeting. At the executive meeting held on 6 March 2019 it was agreed that there would be no increase to subscriptions for the 2019/2020 year.
GENERAL BUSINESS
Affiliation to NZ Athletics
At the executive meeting held on 10 April 2019 it was agreed that the Kerikeri Striders Multisports Club Inc would not affiliate to New Zealand Athletics Association. As NZAA membership requires all members to be affiliated, it was agreed that this was not financially conducive to the majority of members, so no members would be affiliated. If there was occasion for a Kerikeri Striders Multisports Club Inc member to participate in an NZAA sanctioned event, the Kerikeri Striders Multisports Club Inc member would be encouraged to affiliate to a Whangarei Club for this purpose.

Election of Executive
All current executive members are available for re-election. Nominations can be received from any current member wishing to be considered. The closing date for nominations is 12.00pm on Wednesday 17th April. Please email info@striders.con.nz for an application form.
Notice of AGM Business
Nominations for any elections, proposed motions and other general business items must be received by info@striders.co.nz in writing by no later than 12.00pm on Wednesday 17th April 2019.
AGM Agenda
An agenda containing the business to be discussed at the AGM will be on the website Kerikeri Striders Multisports Club www.striders.co.nz from 5.00pm 17th April 2019.
Voting
In the event of receiving more nominations than available positions votes will be cast on the evening of the AGM. Voting will be restricted to current financial members.
On Conclusion
Drinks and nibbles will be provided at the end of the meeting for members who attend.

Kerikeri Striders Multisports Club
Queenstown International Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 3km
The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon’ will be held on Saturday 16th November 2019, so there won’t be a clash with our favourite Half Marathon in Kerikeri which is taking place a week later, 23rd November.
There are four options available, with the 3km being a kids run. The courses are set between the backdrop of the Crown and Remarkable mountain ranges, and take in highlights of the Lakes region. The terrain features hard packed cycle trails.
Make a weekend of it as there is so much to do in and around Queenstown. Could it be a ‘training run’ for the big race the next week?
